  • Device check runs once when the app opens: secure context, WebGPU, a reachable adapter, not a software adapter, shader-f16 for Heavy
  • Home shows a plain message for each unsupported case and disables the modes that cannot run, with the reason readable on the card
  • Dev-only ?device= override to see each case; stripped from the build
