Send bodyless project trail requests without a JSON Content-Type

ProjectTrailRequest wrapped a nil body in an empty bytes.Reader, so the client saw a non-nil body and declared Content-Type: application/json on every GET and DELETE (reads, number lookups, unlink, message deletion). Pass a nil reader when there is no payload.
