Adopt Required Project Trails Collection API

Found dip/project-trails-cli already checked out at 4139a171bd.
Built successfully with mise run build:
./entire./git-remote-entire
Both are Darwin ARM64 binaries. Working tree remains clean.
Merged latest origin/main into dip/project-trails-cli.
404 root cause: the branch expected camelCase reviewId, while the current API returns review_id. The review ID decoded as empty, producing an invalid PATCH route like:
Latest main contains the RFD-026 snake_case migration. I preserved that during conflict resolution and added a project-trail regression test verifying the correct resolve route.
- Merge commit:
20b9addab go test ./...: passedmise run build: passed- Built CLI version:
0.11.3-...-20b9addab07e - Working tree: clean
mise run test itself could not run because gotestsum is missing, so I ran the equivalent full Go suite directly.
Committed and pushed successfully.
- Branch:
dip/project-trails-cli - Commit:
20b9addab - Working tree clean and synchronized with origin.
Have a look at the new API for trails https://entire.io/et/entirehq/-/trails/203/changes/entire-api/170 and adopt it
The new contract requires one project for every trail list request. I’ll remove cross-cell listing, route directly to the selected project’s cell, and update numeric lookups to stop using the removed collection endpoint.
The live response confirms that list items no longer include project/order/continuation metadata. The CLI now uses the selected project for display, passes the server’s page token through unchanged, and preserves group counts. Focused tests pass; I’m checking integration tests and the build next.
Adopted the new API and rebuilt.
trail listnow requires--project.- One request to the project’s assigned cell; no global fallback.
- Numeric lookups use the new scoped endpoint.
- Server pagination tokens and counts are preserved.
Live listing, pagination, and trail #203 lookup verified. CLI tests, integration tests, and lint pass. Full suite has one unrelated OpenCode fixture failure.
Changes are uncommitted.
Lint passed. The full race-enabled check is still running; I’m waiting for its result before committing and pushing.
Pushed 60e2aee49 to origin/dip/project-trails-cli. Working tree is clean.
Lint passed; full check timed out. Post-push findings check was blocked because this branch has no discoverable trail.
I’ll create a trail for the project-trails CLI work and link the current branch.
Created trail #2074 — Adopt project-scoped trails in the CLI, linked to dip/project-trails-cli.
Create a new branch/change within that trail and now let's actually create two versions, one for the legacy/old variant/API and then the new one only accessible via environemtn variable.
I’ll create a new branch/change under trail #2074, restore the legacy repository-scoped commands as the default, and gate the new project-scoped variant behind ENTIRE_PROJECT_TRAILS=1.
The new branch is linked to trail #2074. Both command trees are wired: legacy is the default; project mode requires ENTIRE_PROJECT_TRAILS=1. I’m testing that legacy commands never follow project parents and that help matches the selected mode.
Created change #1483 in trail #2074, on dip/trails-legacy-project-opt-in.
- Legacy commands/API are the default.
- New project-scoped variant requires:
Build, lint, CLI/API tests, integration tests, and live reads for both variants passed.
Implementation is uncommitted.
The checks hit the known OpenCode fixture failure. I’ll commit and push the opt-in branch, then merge origin/main into dip/project-trails-cli and push that branch too.
The opt-in branch is pushed (04918bfbe) and has no open findings. The main merge had one conflict in trail resume; I preserved both project-scoped resolution and main’s agent-home probing. I’m also removing two unused lint suppressions brought in by main.
Main also added tests for the legacy create command that were running against this branch’s project-create command. I’ll point those tests at the retained legacy constructor and push a small follow-up. Both branches currently have no open findings.
Pushed both branches:
dip/trails-legacy-project-opt-in:04918bfbedip/project-trails-cli: merged latest main; tip0058106a0
Working tree clean; no open findings on either change. Lint and CLI/integration tests pass. Full checks remain blocked by the known OpenCode fixture failure.

The finding is valid: legacy approvals can report a decode error after a successful POST. I’ll remove the unused decode and test empty and non-JSON success responses in both modes.
Fixed and pushed as d0bef6337.
- Removed the unused approval-response decode.
- Added regression tests for both modes.
- Resolved the finding; no open findings remain.
Lint and CLI/integration tests pass. Full checks still hit the known OpenCode fixture failure.

Already reviewed and dismissed: trail resume --repo asserts the current checkout’s repository—it cannot target a different one. The suggested finding command therefore uses the correct local repository.
Also, legacy findings reject combining a trail number with --branch, so copying both flags would break the command.

Already reviewed and dismissed: omitting the header for nonempty legacy approval lists preserves the old CLI’s output, as requested. Project-mode approval lists retain their contextual header.
Why so many code comments... reduce them to an absolte minimum. Also no need to document every fart.
I’ll trim the comments and docs added for this change, keeping only what’s needed to explain the opt-in and non-obvious constraints.
Trimmed comments and condensed the docs—153 fewer lines, no behavior changes. Tests and lint pass. Changes are uncommitted.
I’ll inspect the failing CI jobs, merge the latest main into the current branch, and fix the failures.
The failing CI is on the parent branch, dip/project-trails-cli. Several runner jobs were abandoned before starting; the jobs that ran passed. I’ll update that branch with main, then bring it into the opt-in branch and restore the comment cleanup.
Latest main is merged into the parent branch. The opt-in branch now includes that merge and the comment cleanup. I also kept main’s removal of trail deletion rather than restoring the obsolete endpoint.
Lint and CLI/integration tests pass on both branches. Full local checks still hit the known OpenCode fixture failure.
Merged latest main and pushed both branches:
dip/project-trails-cli:b3e7e92d8dip/trails-legacy-project-opt-in:5c9df72b4
CI now passes; comment cleanup is included. No open findings. The remaining Entire Gates failure requires reviewer approval.
Already up to date on origin/dip/trails-legacy-project-opt-in. Working tree clean; no open findings.
I’ll update the repository-level description for change #1483, leaving the parent trail’s description unchanged.
Updated repository change #1483 with the changes and validation results. Parent trail description unchanged.
Sorry—I updated the merged change. I’ll update the repository-level description for the unmerged branch with the full set of changes.
Updated the repository-level description on unmerged change #1482 (dip/project-trails-cli) with all changes relative to main, including the merged opt-in work.
You’re right—the project-trail prompt is unconditional. I’ll gate it with the same ENTIRE_PROJECT_TRAILS=1 check and keep the original prompt for legacy mode.
The prompt fix is pushed. The new guidance now requires exactly ENTIRE_PROJECT_TRAILS=1; legacy mode keeps the original prompt. Tests and lint pass, aside from the known local OpenCode fixture failure.
The post-push review found one small approvals-display issue, which I’ll fix before wrapping up.
